Diagnosing the Problem

There are two parts to a thorough chiropractic examination. First a complete history is followed by a standard physical exam including orthopedic and neurological tests. X-rays and other special imaging may be ordered as well as laboratory tests when necessary. This exam allows us to make a "differential diagnosis" which determines if your problem can be best treated by our chiropractic physicians, or should be referred to a medical physician or specialist. Secondly, we use specific biomechanical tests to assess joint and muscle function and related neurological effects. This includes joint and muscle palpation, range of motion assessment, postural analysis, strength testing, trigger point analysis and dynamic spinal loading.

After examination, our findings and treatment options will be discussed with you. If your spouse (partner) is available we find it beneficial to share your diagnosis and treatment options with them as well.
